Travel booking portal: Cleartrip seeks to increase its workforce by 40%

The increase will effectively take the company’s headcount to 700 employees by December this year, a threefold increase from 240 employees in October last year.
Part of the hiring was dedicated to supporting the company’s plans to grow its business in the hotel category by hiring across all regions of India to grow its vertical portfolio of hotels as well as build the technology and product teams for this category. Hiring is done in Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab.
The announcement follows the recent acquisition of Cleartrip by Flipkart Group – part of the Walmart Group, which has accelerated the company’s growth strategy to make Cleartrip an end-to-end travel app by end of 2022.
“We have seen a steady recovery as customer confidence slowly but surely returns to pre-Covid levels. At this point, now is the time to grow our business, which is naturally recovering more slowly than other sectors. By hiring the industry’s top talent at all levels, we infuse our teams with fresh energy and ideas, setting us up for success,” said Ayyappan Rajagopal, CEO of Cleartrip.
