SEC launches tour guide program with Shurooq and EPAA

Sharjah 24: As part of programs for students, the Sharjah Education Council (SEC) is launching the Tourist Guide Program, aimed at qualifying students with skills to become tour guides and allowing them to familiarize themselves with the tourist attractions of Sharjah to discover. visitors and tourists.

The SEC is developing the program in cooperation with the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority “Shurooq” and the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA).

The tour guide program is scheduled to start July 4-15. The program includes a number of workshops and site visits, providing participating students with the best skills needed in the field of guiding. Under the current circumstances, the program will run virtually, for 12-16 year olds.

His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Mulla, Secretary General of the Sharjah Education Council, praised the fruitful and constructive cooperation between the Council’s partners, namely Shurooq and EPAA, and the launch of the tour guide program.

Al Mulla pointed out that the program is a qualitative addition to the learning and training programs offered by the SEC, as it enables students to be national professionals presenting tourist attractions to visitors, with the aim of strengthening the Sharjah’s position as a distinguished family, heritage and culture tourist destination.

Al Mulla explained that the program will run daily, in the morning, visiting a number of tourist sites in Sharjah, using virtual communication technology, which will allow students to learn more about thirteen sites.

Al Mulla concluded that tours will include Al Bait Hotel, Al Noor Island, Al Muntazah Park, Al Majaz Waterfront, Bait Al Hikma, Mleiha Archaeological Center, Mysk Al Faya Retreat, Al Badayer Retreat, Kingfisher Lodge, Moon Lodge, Khorfakkan Beach Park, and Buhais Biological Park.
