Online travel booking portal Cleartrip will increase its workforce by the end of this year

Cleartrip, a Bengaluru-based travel aggregator website, is looking forward to increasing its workforce by 400 employees by December 2022. The hiring of 400 employees will bring the workforce to a total of 700 employees, a multiplication by three compared to 240 employees in October. 2021.

Hiring will be in technology and product teams and in various destinations in India – Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab.

Earlier this quarter, the travel aggregator increased its workforce by 60%. A large number of hires have been devoted to its plans to develop its hotel category business.

Asked about the reason for this massive hiring spree, Ayyappan Rajagopal, CEO of Cleartrip, said, “Cleartrip is actively recruiting for its upcoming tech park in Chennai where all tech-related setback work will be managed so that we can reach the target of 400 employees by the end of this year.

He added: “By hiring the best talent in the industry at all levels, we infuse energy and fresh ideas into our teams, setting us up for success. As we move forward into 2022, one of our main goals this year is to bring more offerings, expand our existing verticals to deliver more digital travel experiences to our customers to build confidence while traveling during a difficult time. ”

The announcement comes after Flipkart Group, part of US-based Walmart Group, acquired Cleartrip, which accelerated the brand’s growth strategy to create an end-to-end travel app for the company here. the end of 2022.

In 2021, e-commerce giant Flipkart acquired a 100% stake in Cleartrip, making it a Flipkart Group company.

Cleartrip has raised a total of $56.4 million in funding over 7 rounds, according to data from Crunchbase. Their latest funding was raised on October 29 last year in a secondary market round.

Founded in 2006, Cleartrip is an online travel agency for booking flights, train tickets, hotel bookings and activities in India and Middle Eastern countries. It has offices in India, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
