Ice Poseidon explains his side of the infamous plane crash that led to Twitch’s ban

Veteran IRL streamer Paul ‘Ice Poseidon’ Denino has detailed his version of the dramatic events that led to him being permanently banned from Twitch. Denino was suspended indefinitely from the platform when he was removed from a plane by police after being falsely accused of having a bomb.
Ice Poseidon had built his career as one of the most popular and early IRL streamers. With a tremendous fanbase around him, it seemed like there was no end to Denino’s Twitch dominance.
However, it all fell apart after he was run over while on a plane due to a prank bomb threat. After the incident made headlines in the United States, he was permanently banned from Twitch, leading to a heated argument within the streaming community.
Now Denino has shared his take on the drama and what really happened, including how he says Twitch initially denied he could be banned for the incident.
Since being banned from Twitch, Ice Poseidon has moved to YouTube.
Ice Poseidon during a plane crash incident
Ice Poseidon had live-streamed his experience before boarding his flight from Los Angeles to Austin in April 2017. After revealing his gate number, a troll phoned authorities falsely claiming the streamer was carrying a bomb that left him. led to him being escorted off the plane by the police.
When the plane made an unexpected landing in Phoenix, Denino was horrified to see the police arrive on the plane. However, he suspected that he might have been crushed again. “Please don’t come to me,” he thought. Sure enough, the police were looking for him.
“Getting off the plane in front of 200 people…these people think I’m a fucking terrorist or something now,” Denino said. He then underwent grueling FBI interrogation over the incident.
Ice Poseidon claims Twitch has dismissed its ban fears
As the event made national headlines, Denino feared being banned from Twitch. According to him, however, when he raised his concerns with his Twitch representative, he was assured that this would not happen as the swatting did not occur during his stream.
“I asked my Twitch rep, I said ‘Hey, I’m going to get banned because the swatting didn’t happen on stream. No one knew I was smashed until this came out f**cking news,” Denino said. “He’s like, ‘well, that didn’t happen on streaming, so no.'”
However, he was later banned indefinitely and the internet erupted over the drama. “When you get banned on Twitch, you practically get fucked and no one is going to watch me anymore.”
In the heat of the debate, a number of Twitch streamers blamed Ice Poseidon for the incident and criticized him for “playing the victim”.
The first few days after the ban were, understandably, difficult for Denino given how he had built his career on Twitch. He also claimed it was particularly upsetting as it brought back his past before he started broadcasting when he had “nothing” and “didn’t want to lose everything”.
Still, Denino persevered and moved on to Youtube earning 735,000 subscribers, at the time of writing. However, he has since made several calls to Twitch to have his ban revoked.
